Rewilding Childhood is a high profile multi-media initiative highlighting how children in different parts of Europe experience wild nature and investigating how that affects their social and emotional development.
The Co-Directors Niall Benvie and Cat Lee Marr are using their media skills, as a Wildlife Photographer and Sound Artist to capture the essence of childhood in nature, and how the relationship between children and nature varies throughout Europe.
Currently underway is the 100 ways element of the project, through which Rewilding Childhood is gathering stories from all over Europe to build up a picture of the importance of green space and wild nature to children, past and present. We are always looking for new memories or ideas to add to this fantastic on-line resource of ideas, suggestions and inspiration for parents, teachers and children who just want to get out there and have fun. To submit your stories (maximum 300 words per story in English and, optionally, in your native language too) at: http://www.rewildingchildhood.com/100-ways/
Niall and Cat are also working on a series of Wildlife Photography and Sound Recording Workshops for adults and children and will soon be developing a series of new audio visual books called "Meet the Neighbours" depicting wildlife in a new light.
